I have twin 140 Johnson 4 Stroke, 2004 model yesr... this past weekend, I was launcing the boat, started both motors to allow them to warm up prior to backing off trailer. Both engines fire and ran perfectly until I shifted into reverse to back off the trailer. My Port engine shut off and when I went to restart, I received the Check Engine alarm. I shut both engines off, and tried restarting and the same thing happened. Whe I turn the key on, I get 2 flashed a short pause and then 3 flashes of the check engine light, so error code 2 3. My plan is to take to a certified mechanic but 1st wanted to make sure there isn't anything I should try before doing so. Also, yesterday I disconnected and cleaned the battery leads but this didn't help clear the issues. Any advice, direction appreciated.
