Lockout Link Problems

Hello,

I have a Johnson 15 hp, pull start. The lockout link which attaches to the hinged tab which requires the transmission to be in neutral before allowing the pull cord to engage keeps popping out of the hole in the tab. I don't know if the link has gotten bent or how to adjust it to keep it in place. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Or maybe not bent, but it might need to be installed from other side of hole, or maybe it should have a clip or something holding it in place? Look at parts pic for your motor to see if missing anything?

Post a pic or two showing the ends, and maybe someone can help?
