  • Pennzoil for older Johnson?

Hi all, I'm new here. I have a 2001 Johnson 70 Hp. Carb outboard. I have ran nothing but Johson/Evinrude oil since it was new, in this motor. The old Johnson oil is now getting impossible to find in my area and I'm thinking about changing over to Pennzoil synthetic blend for this motor. What are all your thoughts on this? Thanks!

If no Johnson/evinrude dealers near you, then you could either order online by the case, or settle for another marine 2 stroke oil, Pennzoil will work, synthetic does work. Suzuki, Yamaha and Mercury 2 stroke marine oils are also good.

If your motor is a 4 stroke, then likewise, use a good 4 stroke marine oil.

    Good luck.

Thanks Solarman but,I realize I could order the oil and so on and so forth, but I'm not going to pay the outrageous shipping prices. This is a 2-stroke.

Has anyone here ran the Pennzoil synthetic blend in their older Johnsons?

I mean, I'm sure it will work dude, I'd just like some input from some of you guys.
