    First off I'd like to say hello to everybody and to say this looks like a great forum. I just received this motor and it ran fine. Now I went to start it this morning and the pull cord stayed out, I'm thinking recoil spring broke, does anybody know where I might be able to pick up a book on this motor to see if this is a fix I can do myself. This is my first boat and would like to do this fix myself if feasible ! Any help you can offer would be deeply appreciated....

    You might be able to view the parts list for this motor (I can't on my phone?), so i'm not sure if you have a side, or top recoil assy. It is possible to repair both, and not real difficult. If you need to, take a few pics while taking apart, to help remember how it goes together. The tricky part is the recoil spring, and to find out what broke, or came apart.

      It has a side mount recoil and it is the spring that broke, about a 6" piece ! Is there a manual I can purchase to make sure I put this back together correctly !
