I thought I already posted this thread, but cna't find it. I was a new member, so maybe it didn't get posted.

I have what I believe is a 1947 9.something hp seahorse. I had to free up the motor and carberator. Now, it has no spark, but everything else is ok. I would assume condensor problem, but have yet not found the condensor(s). The wires coming from the points (2 sets of points), go down through the bottom plate to the bottom of the speed control. I have not investigated further to see what is under there. I have the manual that covers 1922-1964 motors, but it has every magneto display except mine. Does anyone know anything about this motor?

That's one good looking old motor.

Not sure where to tell you to look. But the first place is the magneto. Check for the output there, then the rectifier, & regulator (? Not really sure if you have one there?), from there should go to points and condenser, then coil, and last the plug.

Also, check all wiring from each item, any bad insulation, cracked, or bare wires that contact ground before the points, will act like there is no voltage going to points.

Good luck. Post us back of anything you find, would like to hear.

Thank's for your input. I am pretty sure there are not any ground fault problems, and I guess I will have to put on my glasses to find the condenser. I was hoping someone could direct me to a manual, but it is a pretty old motor . . .

I wonder why it is shown it the 1922 and newer manual that I found?
