I recently purchased a 1965 Johnson 9.5 HP. The seller put it into a tank and started it in 7 pulls. Ran good and strong so I bought it. Got it home and it would not start. I thought maybe laying it down in the bed of my truck may have done something to the carb. So I rebuilt the carb. Still won't start. It is getting good spark (brand new plugs) and gas. I think my next step should be to set the carb to points synchronization. I understand how to do it, even learned the pickup location. It's supposed to have a mark on the magneto palte to set the throttle cam to, but I cannot find the mark. The motor is so old that the mark may be obliterated.

Dose anyone know where this mark is?

Other than that, the motor is in surprisingly good shape. I just need to find this mark.
