    Tilt and Trim issues

    I have a 2003 Johnson 50hp 4stroke model J50PL4ST. Found that there is water mixed with the fluid in the T&T. I have tried to locate a seal and o-ring kit for it but the only thing that I have found is a kit with only 3 o-rings. Is this all that is needed to repair this unit? Thanks in advance for any help.

    Being retired, my books don't go that high, sorry.

    However, I'd suggest that you examine the exploded view of that unit in a parts book and make a list of "all" the "O" Rings and seals involved separately... order them individually as a group and go from there.

      My T&T unit was getting water into it. I needed to find out how to clean it out and to find the seals and o-rings to repair problem. I watched a Youtube video about cleaning and installing o-rings and seals. The unit was from a mid 2000's Honda engine. I noticed that the T&T unit was the same make, (Showa), and design as mine. Checked Boats.net for 2004 Honda 50 hp 4 stroke and saw that they had a complete break down of the parts for the T&T. Took a chance and ordered the ram wiper seal and it fit perfectly. Cost about $15.00 with the shipping. Only way to get it from Johnson etc was to purchase an oil tank with seal in it for $171.00. Could have bought the tank and seal from Honda for about $32.00 plus shipping. Huge difference. Unit is working great now.
