motor with damaged model# tag

I was given an old 25hp motor for parts. The problem is that the model tag was very badly defaced and I can't read it to find the correct repair parts such as a carburetor kit or fuel pump kit. Is there any numbers maybe on the power head that I can use to find the correct model and manufacture year ?

Look the powerhead over closely for a core plug (looks like a small freeze out plug) which may have the serial and model number imprinted upon it.

If not, study that plate as closely as possible and let us know what you think might be imprinted on it.
