  • time frame for motor repair

boat shop has had my boat for 6 weeks in order to do some maintenance tasks on it, carb kits, thermostats, water pump, prop hub. seems like a really long time for these tasks to be completed. does it seem long time to anyone else.

The wait isn't for what maintenance needs to be performed on your engine. The wait is due to the work that is needed on other engines/boats before your engine came upon the scene.

The hours involved in repairing your engine depends on exactly what engine you have... you didn't say.

If it were me.... any shop that was backed up 6 weeks... I'd be looking for another shop or learning to do the work myself (if I didn't already know).
