    How to identify older Johnson 225 VRO

    Hi guys. I just bought a used Stratos 2000DC with a Johnson 225 VRO with no serial/model tag. I have read on other forums that you can identify the year/model by the welch plug numbers. Maybe someone can help? I am trying to get the right manual for my motor. Attached are photos that might help identify the right model. I have googled just about all the info I could find...nothing has helped. Any help is appreciated.

    The photos aren't the best in the world... hard to make out anything.

    What are the numbers on the core plug (welch plug)

      Yeah sorry. it was a bad time of day to take pics.

      Welch plug # is 0431798.

        Unfortunately that doesn't tell us anything. I was hoping the model number would be imprinted as well.
