Recently purchased an 05 50 Four stroke.. replaced the High Pressure fuel pump replaced both high and low filters.. replaced all fuel lines on motor.. Starts right up great every time. The problem is if you try to go WOT from idle to fast it will bog and won't go over 4k rpms but if you ease into the throttle slow it will run up nicely to around 5k but as soon as you give it more thtottke she will bog down again . Also primer bulb doesn't stay hard but there is no difference in performance when pumping the bulb hard while its bogging.. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

The fuel primer bulb does not stay hard when the engine is running... it drops down to the halfway point. This is normal.

Your problem is normally due to the high speed jet becoming somewhat clogged due to sitting. Clean it thoroughly.

I didnt know there was a high speed jet ? Its fuel injected . I cleaned the VST Tank when I replaced the high pressure fuel pump.

Sorry, I retired in 1991 and have no knowledge of the fuel injection system, I overlooked that in your post.

I'd suggest that you insert your problem in the two following forums as I'm sure the members there will have the answer for you.

          MarineEngine.com and iboats.com

          Wish you luck.
