  • 1971-2 Loop Charged 50hp. 50th. anniversary series Project.

    Hello,
Take my money, lol. Another forum is having a bad day on my end of replying to threads. Figured see if there is a more stable online forum that doesn't obliderate newbe boat owners. Like the title though...
I recently went and picked up a $500.00 boat, trailer and motor project. Scrubbed off a 1968 red Norris Craft to a odd Dukes of Hazard orange in the right light. The boat has shape so the project is the motor. Without boots on the plugs, a half charged jumper pack turned the propeller. By hand it feels like a bunch of rubber rubbing and I heard rubber at the impeller. I went to check the lower oil and eventually some muck came out after a little water. It was purchased out of PA and then sold to me. Which resulted in a, drop the lower assembly. There was fishing line at the propeller, but haven't taken it apart at the impeller housing to investigate more. The wire snake fed through easily so getting the wire pair back up won't be an issue. I'm hoping worst case of, resealing something and the right oil back in, but like to share projects. A 7 conductor wire leading back to a 10 wire motor plug determined should probably learn the motor and wonder how the previous owner thought a manual shift cable would send voltage to shift wires.

I set my phone camera to a low image setting and the forum said nope. I'll play some more to see if VGA still exists, but will eventually share photos.
