hi all I have a 2000 150hp ocean runner that is a new to me boat and motor. I have changed out the water separator and it has new plugs and wire (correct ones)
the issue is after I get on plane about twenty seconds into WOT the motor breaks up and misses. The strange part is if i back off to 3300 rpms the boat runs fine. If i put it up 3500 i can hear a slight miss and when you put it in the corner it breaks up but doesn't stall but runs like crap. i had my father check the ball and it was soft, i drained the bowls on the carbs thinking it may have been water. Tomorrow i will try the 5 gallon can test . Anyone who has had an issue like this, i could use some advice.
    thanks Bill

update I ran the motor on a remote can this weekend still had the issue. the only way that made it go away was pumping the ball. I am thinking its time to rebuild the fuel pump?

Yep... In pumping the fuel primer bulb, you are actually acting as a manual fuel pump. Go for it!
