    Johnson 2015 15hp Throttle Cable

    I've purchased a new throttle cable to replace the kinked one that was on the engine.

    Do all throttle cables get kinked when the tiller gets raised to its maximum throw? Is it really a problem?

    Yes it is a problem as tilting the engine to its maximum tilt angle "IF" the engine is turned in one direction usually causes that throttle/shift cable to slam right into the engine well.

    Most of the engines/boats I've come across gave the cable more room if turned in the opposite direction.... hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones.
