New to the site and thanks in advance for all of you that is willing to help me out. I have a 2001 Johnson 150 carb motor, had carbs rebuilt this year, new plugs, wires, chris Carson reeds, all new fuel lines and primer replaced. Motor starts and idles fine, takes off and gets on plane fine but when I get the around 5-5400 rpms it starts to miss, kinda feels like it may be loading up, drops about 5 mph when it does this, you can hear the engine drop down and not sound right I can slowly let off of the gas and it will stop and I get back on it again it will run fine until it reaches around 5-5400 rpms. Don't know what else to check compression in this motor is mid 90's on all cylinders, I know this is a little low but don't believe this is the problem. Does it sound like carb problems? Could a float be causing this? Any advice would be very appreciated. Thank you!
