  • 1985 15hp carb rebuild question

hi all i have a 1985 15hp johnson that im rebuilding the carb for. i recieved the kit which had a white threaded plastic cone shaped sleeve ,nut ,bearing ,washer that i think goes with the low speed jet needle. could someone please explain the placement and install procedure for this " needle bearing" ? thanks

Your 1985 15hp Johnson does not use that small white nylon bushing/bearing. Set it aside, keep it for spare parts on another engine you might have someday, or simply discard it.

That small white bushing like item is actually a bearing that fits over the tip of various slow speed needle valves to eliminate vibration of the tip that results in damage to the valves taper.

That item is included in the kit as a part for "other" carburetors that this kit might fit. A method of cutting down on the amount of different kits one might need to stock.

And you're welcome of course. However, you state that the bearing/bushing is threaded? Was that a typo? I never saw a threaded one.
