Better to put oil in gas and monitor how much oil is being used per gallon of gas to make oil system is working properly, the VRO pump will activate the alarm if not pumping enough oil, needs to be checked.

    dear mr moderator!
hello and thanks for looking at this thread........i also just encountered this very same problem with my 1999 johnson 130.......motor runs for like 1 minute or so and then the no oil buzzer and light come on....buzzer goes out after about 20-30 seconds but the light stays on......my confusion is that when we are running the motor and all this happens, i'm still getting smoke from the exhaust(which leads me to believe that there is oil present because if there wasn't, it wouldn't smoke....right???
anyway, does this just happen where the vro goes bad or stops working or what????...very confused!!

Not sure, but I would guess that it is the 1.8 by looking at it.

Anyone know where to find the oil sensor or the sending unit that goes in the oil tank?

I removed my tank to access my batteries, and I must have pull the wires to tight, as my no oil warning is now coming on.

The engine was working fine before I pulled the tank out, and it is full of oil and flowing.

    Thanks for any help.
