2000 Johnson 50 HP Engine Issues

I have a 2000 Johnson 50 HP outboard engine on my pontoon boat. When we put it in our lake for the summer we noticed a gurgling noise and some hesitation at full throttle. Today we went for a cruise and it shut off after about 45 minutes. The only way we could keep it running is by pumping the primer bulb consistently. Any ideas of what this could be?

Could be the fuel pump. You should also remove the carburetors and thoroughly clean.

We your at it, change your fuel lines and primer bulb, they dont cost anything and can cause the same symtoms your describing if they are leaking air.
