I have a 1980 Johnson15 hp short shaft motor on a 12 foot gregor aluminim boat. How do I choose the right propeller? There is a 3 blade prop on it now.
For all around performance, you try to get a propeller that runs the motor just under its max rpm. Rule of thumb, for every 1 pitch up you will loose 200-300 rpm and visa-versa.
