15 horse stalls out

15 horse Johnson 2 cycle, new fuel pump last year, did a service on it a few months ago getting ready for the fishing season. Went out today and it started right up, idles smooth but when I throttle up it acts like it runs out of gas. I pulled the choke out and it ran enough to finish the trip but as soon as I let the choke in, it would stall. The carburator has not been removed or cleaned. Acts like a vacume leak since it runs with the choke out. Anyone have an idea as to what to look for?

The carb does need to be removed and cleaned, it's starving for gas.
