From XLong Shaft to Standard Shaft

I would appreciate confirmation on parts to order. I have a Johnson 8hp outboard, Model J8RXEEM. I want to take it to a standard length shaft, 15". From looking at their diagrams, Boats.net lists the correct standard drive shaft for this model as part # 0337939 and the correct shift rod as part # 0336061.

Before I spend nearly $400 on these parts I would very much appreciate someone in the know confirming that those are the correct part numbers for what I want to do. Boat.net did not give me the part #s, I got them from looking at diagrams on their website.

Yes those part numbers are correct but you will need to replaced 0336125 water tube as well and don't forget the lower unit mounting bolts will have to be changed.

Thank you very much. On the bolts, are their numbers 0342540? Boats.net says that number is unavailable.

Yes, may have trouble getting any of those parts, parts are in short supply.
