Hey, all. I've got a '76 Evinrude 115HP (115693G) on my boat with no T&T, just found an '88 Johnson 110HP (J110TLCCA) with a bad powerhead and a good T&T unit for $200. I'm trying to figure out if I can swap my good powerhead on and have a T&T motor, or what else I could do to adapt the T&T onto my current motor. I know the lower unit driveshafts would be different in the splines, so I'd have to move that over as well if the rest is possible. Comparing parts diagrams, the first thing I'm seeing that looks different is probably the powerhead to mid section gasket, so that's making me think they might be too different to work together.
If I can't just swap powerheads and lower units, what's the possibility of swapping transom brackets to put the T&T onto the older engine? My old engine does have the wing looking plate for the rams of the old style T&T that bolts on as a separate unit, but I don't have one. My throttle box has the switch and all the wiring appears to be there, so I think it used to and the PO removed it for some reason.
