Which 25HP johnsons have thru prop exhaust(or not)

I have a Q35 outboard jet drive unit that I need to find 25HP motor for. The specs for the jet state that it will fit 1976 thru 2005 25HP johnson or evinrude with through-the-prop exhaust only. I thought they all were. Am I correct? Sorta want to stay with 2000-2005 years if possible. I have located a 2005 model that is some distance away from me. My question(s) is(are): Which, if any, models of 25HP johnsons did not have thru-prop exhaust, and if there are some without it, can that be determined by the model or serial number alone, without actually looking at the motor. Or could the seller take a picture of something on the motor to verify it is indeed thru the prop exhaust? I really need to know for sure before I invest in a motor I can't use.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Newer models are thru hub exhaust, 90 models and older were not all thru hub exhaust.
