  • early 50's wiring help....Please

I have a 30hp Johnson Seahorse that is an early to mid 50's erra motor. It has electric choke and start.

There are a total of 4 wires that run to the motor, I had to pull the old harness due to how cracked and brittle the wire coatings had become. However one of the wires I dont understand.....Let me explain.

Theres the ground wire (to the battery from the block)
The possitive wire (from the solenoid to the starter)
The Positive wire for the electric choke (switch to choke soleniod)

And then the "what the heck is it wire" I dont know what its purpose is exactly, or where it even wires into. It is connected as a ground on the motor on the rear end of the throttle lever on a metel bullet shaped tip.

Any clue has to what this wire is for?
