Johnson 88SPL V4 twin carb1993 serial number?

I think this motor is a 1993 because the boat is a 1993 model but want to be sure before ordering parts. I found a circular disc embedded in one of the power heads that says G4030759 but this does not appear to be a valid Johnson serial number (maybe a part number?). WHERE should the data sticker be? Is the engine SN possibly cast or etched somewhere? The motor should say J88MSLETE somewhere.

It would have had a model and serial number sticker on the tramsom bracket, port side. It may be gone now, though.
