Hello, I am new to boats and have acquired a boat with a 74 Johnson. The trim/tilt motor does not work. I pulled the trim motor but can not find any markings on the motor housing itself. Where might I be able to find the number or manufacturer info on the tilt system? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks; ChrisB.

Hey.. When we have an issue with an older trim motor.. we take it to out local, but LARGE starter/battery/alternator repair-rebuild business.. They will take the time to look up the brushes required to rebuild the trim motors.. they have saved many of us many dollars .. - I know some OMC trims only offer a NEW motor... - and we didn't have to buy a new trim motor!!..
If they help you..it takes time to find the right parts - take them a box of donuts! Its cheaper than a new trim motor!!
