Evinrude Ignition Switch

Hello all,

I am in the process of changing my ignition switch that has a separate push button choke to a push choke switch; however, I am not positive how to wire it. It appears to have 6 wires and the color codes do not match up. Anyone have any idea?

You didn't say what model or year motor you but most have a main harness with,

Red = 12 volt positive
Black = Ground
Purple = 12 volts key on power
Grey = tach signal lead
Yellow/red = starter circuit
Yellow/black = Ignition stop circuit
Purple/white = Choke
Tan = Overheat signal wire
